AKWA
IBOM PEOPLE WE TARGET:
Akwa Ibom
State is one of Nigeria's 36 states and is located in the
South-South Zone of Nigeria. It
is one of the major oil producing states in Nigeria, but the
traditional occupation of the people is subsistence farming,
with others engaged in fishing, trading, arts and crafts. With a
population of about 3 million people, Akwa Ibom has
several ethnic groups including Ibibio, Annang, Oron, Eket,
Ibeno, Mbo, Okobo and the Adonis. The state capital is Uyo.
Other major towns in the state include Eket, Ikot Ekpene, Abak,
Ikot Abasi, Oron, and Etinan. Most people lives in the
rural areas
SDN
programmes are designed to empower the youths and
other people of Akwa Ibom State to acquire needed skills, set up
own businesses and run them in an ethical and sustainable manner.
We also seek to empower parents to be able to feed their children
as well as give them at least basic education.
