ABOUT AKWA IBOM PEOPLE WE TARGET:

Akwa Ibom State is one of Nigeria's 36 states and is located in the South-South Zone of Nigeria. It is one of the major oil producing states in Nigeria, but the traditional occupation of the people is subsistence farming, with others engaged in fishing, trading, arts and crafts. With a population of about   3 million people, Akwa Ibom has several ethnic groups including Ibibio, Annang, Oron, Eket, Ibeno, Mbo, Okobo and the Adonis.  The state capital is Uyo. Other major towns in the state include Eket, Ikot Ekpene, Abak, Ikot Abasi, Oron, and Etinan.  Most people lives in the rural areas

SDN programmes are designed to empower the youths and other people of Akwa Ibom State to acquire needed skills, set up own businesses and run them in an ethical and sustainable manner. We also seek to empower parents to be able to feed their children as well as give them at least basic education.

Please note that Sustainable Development Network Ltd is independent of Akwa Ibom State government. We are a privately owned and privately run non profit organisation.
